For the Family

We here at the Nehemiah House, know what you are going through associated with your loved one’s addiction is not easy. So please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you with your recovery. Addiction is a family disease and the family needs to recover together. We are not saying the family is to blame or is at fault, but you have been affected by your loved ones addiction, in some form or fashion. Below are some helpful links and two documents that you may want to print out and look over frequently, during the first few months of your family’s recovery.

Please read our Family Policy and take a look at “10 Ways You Can Avoid Enabling An Addict” and  “10 Rules For Loving An Addict”. These suggestions and our policy may seem harsh, cold and mean; however it is what your loved one needs to get through the process of recovery. We also suggest if you are from Lexington we suggest support groups like;

Celebrate Recovery at Hope Springs Church

The Mat at Quest Community Church

If you are not in Lexington and your church doesn’t offer any recovery support groups your local Al-Anon chapter may be able to help point you in the right direction to start your Recovery.
